My nights rarely fail to leave me without something memorable that I can’t recall, last night was no exception to that rule. I wasn’t in the mood for anything crazy but when I picked up my fiancée at the airport, she wanted to go out.
Immediately I knew it was going to be a Mansion night since she hasn’t seen it since they renovated, absurd, I know, and it happens to be one of my favorite places on the beach lately. I can’t remember much but I do remember one thing without any difficulty, George Acosta.

George Acosta is an artist I’ve known since he began playing in the ‘90’s. One of his greatest qualities is that he has always allowed his style to continuously evolve. Many artists achieve stardom and maintain a following for a few years, George Acosta has held his place through 2 decades and is going strong. When I heard he was at headlining Mansion in Miami I was surprised since I know he hasn’t played at the venue since it was called Level, needless to say I was glad.
My series Press Play has helped me develop a lovely relationship with Mansion Night Club on Washington Ave in SoBe. My team and I have had the opportunity to interview countless DJ’s at this EDM cathedral. Last night, something was different. There was electricity in the air.
Patrons young and old were out and about. Miami residents are known to support their own more so than most other states; we love “ The U”, Dolphins, Heat, and Marlins unconditionally. This love clearly extends to George Acosta, because he brought out the locals in masses.

Grammy nominated DJ/Producer George Acosta presents his stunning new single ‘Like Home’, featuring the angelic vocals of singer/songwriter/DJ Lizzie Curious. Released on the Black Hole Recordings imprint Songbird on 21st May, the heartfelt vocals soar over this truly captivating trance track.
Like Home has already received airplay on the national USA station Sirus XM radio, and has entered the DMC Buzz Chart at number 27, receiving the feedback ”A fantastic track with heavenly vocals..Like Home is hooking in my head’.
The Encore remix incorporates an uplifting piano riff and shimmering arpeggiated synths, whilst the progressive feel of the Ibiza mix with it’s warm pads and soaring synth riff is indeed evocative of the White Isle. Khoma’s remix takes Like Home into peak time territory, with all three mixes showcasing the admirable talents of George’s skilful production and Lizzie’s blissful vocals.
The track has generated a huge pre-release buzz on George Acosta’s soundcloud page, with one fan writing: ‘This song is like a light at the end of the tunnel, letting us know that summer is coming soon.’ We think this sums up Like Home perfectly.

George Acosta – To The Sky
1. Original
2. Gerry Cueto Remix
George Acosta proudly present his brand spanking new single “To The Sky” on the Black Hole imprint.
Miami based DJ/Producer George Acosta has been active in the industry for more than 20 years. As the founder of his own Waxhead Records label, he remixed countless artists from the B52s to Ultra Nate to Jon Secada and released seminal mix compilations like “Miami Beach Bash” and “Trance Nation America”. In 2007 he became America’s Best DJ, received a Grammy nomination for a remix he did for Fabulous and became member of the ‘Remix and Producer’s Grammy Committee’. Early 2010, George Acosta signed with Black Hole Recordings and recorded the mix compilation “From Miami To Amsterdam” and made the artist album “Visions Behind Expressions”, which harvested the singles “Beautiful”, “Love Rain Down On Me”, “True Love” and “Tearing Me Apart”; all featuring the stunning vocals of Fisher.
With the release of his new single “To The Sky”, George delivers a spacious tech trancer that maybe reveals a bit of new style for his future productions. His arrangement and the smooth break already show a glimpse of a long hot summer. Gerry Cueto reworked the original into a sharper edged, more techy version.
